About Me

I am a foodie, dog lover, and hiking fanatic who takes pride in working hard.

I have always loved technology which began with learning on a Windows 95. I have progressed from playing Neopets and teaching myself HTML to creating my own website, and I could not be more proud of myself.

When I am not in front of a screen I am looking to try new things. Right now I am trying different meditation and mindfulness activities. I have recently discovered the benefits of being in the present and savoring the moment. The current mediation I am practicing is the Three Minute Breathing Space. The guided mediation can be found here.

As part of the University’s employee development I took a course evaluating my strengths using the Clifton StrengthFinder. The evaluation uses principles from Positive Psychology and focuses on how to improve personal strengths. I would love to share my strengths with you:

  • Achiever: I always strive to meet my goals or complete an achievement each day. I look forward to the next challenge.
  • Input: I am inquisitive and enjoy learning facts about the world. I have many questions about the world and enjoy finding the answers. Currently, I am enjoying listening to podcasts my favorites right now are Freakonomics and Question of the Day.
  • Learner: I love to learn! I enjoy taking on projects where I learn a lot about something new. The process of learning is just as rewarding as the outcome.
  • Includer: I believe that it is important to include others and to hear everyone out. I think projects are most effective when all key players are brought to the table.
  • Restorative: I love solving problems. I find myself trying to think of how I can optimize a process or thinking ahead of how future problems arise. It is important for me identify my knowledge gaps and find resources to fill them.
